African Innocation Fellowship FAQs

FAQs about the Africa Innovation Fellowship

1. Do I have to be a 'start-up' to apply for the Africa Innovation Fellowship?
No, not necessarily. We encourage businesses who have been operating for some years to apply for the incubator. The world is evolving every day, and so are business practices.
2. Do you consider start-ups in ideation/R&D stage?
Yes, we do.
3. How long must the company be operating to be considered?
The company should have been in operation for 2 years to be considered.
4. Does the business need to be generating revenue to be considered?
No, it does not.
5. Do I need to be an entrepreneur in a specific business sector to apply?
Yes. We are inviting early-stage, start-up, women-owned and led businesses with an engineering related business idea. We are interested in entrepreneurs with businesses in STEM but more specifically within Engineering.
6. Will I be able to do this programme virtually?
The programme is designed as a hybrid (virtual and in-person) offering commencing in October 2023, with a eight (8) month programme support. Applicants must have a valid passport and be available to travel between October 2023 to May 2024.
