​Calling Women-owned engineering businesses to join our Sasol Women In Engineering Incubator
Programme

WomHub, in partnership with Sasol ESD, is inviting applications to the third Sasol Women in Engineering Incubator focused on developing women-owned engineering businesses to accelerate growth through leadership development and intensive entrepreneurial support. It is a year-long incubator for South African women entrepreneurs with an established engineering business looking to grow, scale and prepare to be investor ready, followed by additional business services and support from Sasol ESD.

Programme Highlights
  • The Sasol WIE Incubator will run from the beginning of 2025 and is a journey of in person workshops, and hybrid support.
  • Focus areas include commercial development across business strategy and operations, personal entrepreneurial development, sustainability and regulatory education for businesses in the engineering sector.
  • Access to specialist facilitators, mentors and coaches.
  • Access to WomHub’s innovation hub and working space.
  • Additional year’s business services and support through Sasol’s ESD programme.

Eligibility Criteria:
  • ​Applicants must have a registered company that has been in operation for a minimum of 6 months and R250K revenue.
  • The business must operate in the engineering sector and be based in South Africa.
  • Individual applicants must be South African citizens *. 
  • A strong dedication to driving business expansion.
  • Applicants must be able to commit  to the full duration of the programme commencing in January  2025.
  • Applicants must be female, have majority ownership in the business and play an active role in business leadership and operations.
  • Applicants must be over the age of 18. There is no upper age limit.
  • Willingness to actively participate in the programme.
  • The business must be Tax compliant.
  • The following scopes will be excluded:
    • Building Construction
    • Building Maintenance Services
    • Facilities Management
  • Priority given to fence-line community SMEs (Secunda, Sasolburg, Ekandustria, Durban and Johannesburg and surroundings.)

Application and Programme Timeline:
  • Applications open: 30 October 2024
  • Applications close: 20 November 2024​
  • Incubator Programme Starts: March 2025
